DreamPlay: Kid-Friendly Indoor Theme Park in City of Dreams

DreamPlay by Dreamworks in City of Dreams Manila is an indoor theme park inside a hotel. It is a bit more expensive than other big playgrounds here in Metro Manila so I was excited to experience it.

Here are the 2022 DreamPlay entrance fees, which were updated last May 11, 2022.

2022 DreamPlay Entrance Fee

Per DreamPlay, “a participant ticket holder can enjoy all the attractions inside DreamPlay while the non-participant can only enter the premises but won’t be allowed to experience any of the attractions.”

Tip! Eat before you visit and arrive early to maximize their park hours. You can stay as long as you like during their operating hours (11 am to 8 pm).

We had early lunch first so we arrived at DreamPlay around noon. We noticed that there were a lot of people eating in the Chez Gingy restaurant area.

2022 DreamPlay Payment Process

We lined up to pay first and my parents got participating tickets for me and my brother while they got non-participating tickets. We were given wristbands – Trolls-themed wristbands for me and my brother (participating ticketholders), and DreamPlay ribbon wristbands for my parents (non-participating ticketholders).

We headed inside to Gingy’s Kitchen first to register for their baking class. It was around noon when we arrived and the next available schedule was already 3 pm. We decided to enjoy the other attractions while waiting and the nearest to it was the Afro Circus.

Afro Circus

The Afro Circus is a Madagascar-themed multi-level playground similar to indoor playgrounds in malls. What is different about it is there are lots of balls in the playground that you can use in the “canons” in the middle or with the “guns” at the 2nd level of the playground. It can be pretty loud sometimes.

It also has a fun obstacle course inside.

Tip! Remember to wear or bring socks to be allowed to play inside.

Whatever Floats Your Boat

After Afro Circus, we went to “Whatever Floats Your Boat,” which is right beside it.

We got to design and assemble our own boats before we place them on the river. There were several “wind guns” around the river, which we can use to blow air to make our boats go faster. I was so excited but I made my boat sink.

I really liked designing my boat and my brother had fun chasing down his boat around the river.

Dream Studio

Next, we entered the Dream Studio, which is a place with computer screens where kids can make animations using their favorite Dreamworks characters.

They were playing Dreamworks shows while we were playing in the studio. They also have framed photos from Dreamworks movies in the studio.

I enjoyed this area but my little brother was not very interested in animation yet so my dad took him around the other areas of the theme park, while I stayed in Dream Studio with my mom.

How to Fly Your Dragon

This is one of my favorites in DreamPlay because I got to assemble my own dragon! I chose and assembled the dragon’s head, wings, and tail. After that, I went up the stairs to the second floor and a friendly DreamPlay employee helped me make it fly down!

There were exciting hanging bridges too in this area that we crossed to other parts of the theme park. There were also a lot of big slides but the employees said I was still too short to try it.

After we crossed the hanging bridges, we saw an airplane! There were also some party rooms with interactive tables where you can digitally color DreamPlay characters.

Dream Theater

After going back down to the first floor, we lined up at the Dream Theater. They showed 3 4D movies in the Dream Theater. It was fun because we enjoyed watching, plus there was wind, and we got sprinkled with water at the end!

Dream Library

After watching in the dream theater, we went to the dream library and they were having a coloring activity there.

I sat down and colored while watching a show on the TV.

Shrek’s Swamp Stomp

Afterward, we went around the theme park and saw Shrek’s Swamp Stomp. This area is a big and fun treehouse and obstacle course! We had to crawl, climb and balance on hanging bridges. It was really fun!

Furious 6 Academy

After playing at Shrek’s Swamp Stomp, we went to the Furious 6 Academy where you get to follow Kung Fu moves on a big TV. I didn’t stay here for a long time because I was more excited about the other parts of the theme park.

Gingy’s Kitchen

We went back to Gingy’s Kitchen for our baking experience. We had to wait for our names to be called before we enter. They also checked our wristbands too to see if we can participate. My parents were allowed to go with us inside but only my brother and I were able to bake.

We washed our hands first before heading over to the baking area. We were given an apron and cap at our workstations. It was a fun activity and we got to make and decorate our gingerbread man cookies! My dad enjoyed eating it after our activity.

Thread of Enlightenment, Wall of Destiny, and Stairway to Heaven

There were some attractions that we weren’t able to try because we are still too young for it like the Thread of Enlightenment, Wall of Destiny, and Stairway to Heaven. These look like exciting activities for older kids and adults.

I had a blast in DreamPlay!

I really enjoyed exploring DreamPlay and I was happy that there are a lot of activities there that we can do compared to other theme parks. It was also fun that we can spend a long time inside and did not have a 1-hour or 2-hour limit to our playtime. There were also a lot of things to do there aside from playing in the playground area.

I think older kids would enjoy this place more because they will be allowed to participate in all the attractions like the big slides, Thread of Enlightenment, Wall of Destiny, and Stairway to Heaven. Some of it still looks too scary for me and I am still too short for it.

Overall, it is a fun place to go to but kids need to be older than me to be able to enjoy all the attractions, especially since it is more expensive than indoor playgrounds.
