Manila to Cebu Flight On Cebu Pacific: How to Fly with Kids During Pandemic I 2022
Our Manila to Cebu flight on Cebu Pacific was my first flight during the pandemic. I was nervous at first but I actually enjoyed it!
I will share with you ten tips on how to travel on domestic flights with kids like me.
Tip 1: Check and prepare the travel requirements of your destination before your flight.
For our Manila to Cebu flight, we used S-pass to check our travel requirements and apply for a travel permit. We went to the website https://s-pass.ph/ for this.
First, we checked the requirements for our destination city on the Spass website.
The Spass website says we don’t need a travel permit anymore for Mandaue city, where we are going.
⭐ Extra Tip! If you are unsure about the travel requirements of your destination city, you can check the S-pass website or call the LGU.
We used my passport as identification since my last school ID is already 2 years old.
We also prepared our vaccination cards. Honestly, they didn’t ask for our vaccination cards anymore at the airport but it is better to be prepared.
Tip 2: Check in online before your flight to avoid lines at the airport.
With Cebu Pacific, you can check in online for their domestic flights as early as 7 days up to 4 hours before your flight.
We were able to get our boarding passes for our Manila to Cebu flight immediately. We saved it on our phones and we just presented our phones at the airport. No need to print on paper!
⭐ Extra Tip! You can use your desktop, laptop, tablet or smart phone to check in online but it is best to use your phone so that you can easily save it on your phone.
Tip 3: Be at the airport early.
Be at the airport at least two hours for domestic flights to have enough time.
You can enter through the Arrivals Entrance instead of the Departures Entrance where there are fewer people. You can just take an elevator or an escalator up to the departure area.
Tip 4: Bring empty water tumblers and fill them with water after the security check.
This way, we don’t always have to call a flight attendant and wait whenever we are thirsty. It is also cheaper to buy at the airport than inside the airplane.
If you are flying with other airlines and they give free water during the flight, you can just request for a flight attendant to put the water in your tumbler.
Tip 5: Download your favorite shows on your tablet or phone before your flight.
I get bored easily while waiting and it helps if I can watch my favorite show. This way, I can watch at the airport while waiting for boarding or inside the plane during the flight.
I like to download my favorite shows on YouTube for free!
I also use wireless headphones that I just connect to tablets and phones using Bluetooth.
Tip 6: Bring lots of extra masks.
I bring extra masks in case I drop them or get them dirty, which happens a lot. My little brother who is only 4 years old actually uses more masks than me.
I also used a mask extension so that the mask will not rub the back of my ear.
Tip 7: Be early at the boarding gates.
Please look at your boarding pass and remember your time of boarding. Try to arrive at the boarding gate much earlier than that.
Sometimes, you’ll need to ride a bus to go to the plane when you are flying with Cebu Pacific or other airlines and you will miss it if you are late. During our flight, a passenger was left behind because she was super late and missed the boarding time.
Tip 8: Bring alcohol and wipes to disinfect.
I use a small alcohol bottle that I just attached to my bag so I don’t have to bring it out of my bag.
I use the wipes on the chairs and on the tray table to make sure it’s clean.
Tip 9: Bring snacks and toys.
I bring a lot of snacks because my brother and I get hungry and bored a lot. Hello Panda is my favorite.
I brought a lot of snacks to our flight so we don’t have to buy food anymore.
My brother also loves playing with his toys during the flight.
Tip 10: Go to the bathroom before take-off.
I like to go to the bathroom before the plane takes off, while the CR is still very clean.
I also like using a toilet seat cover when I use toilets outside of our house.
