Shangri-La Mactan, Cebu Resort: Kid-Approved Exciting Activities

Shangri-La Mactan Resort in Cebu was so much fun! We went there to celebrate my birthday and we had a blast swimming at the beach and the pools, playing at Adventure Zone and EZone, and eating delicious food.

We booked our hotel stay in Shangri-La Mactan directly on their website and we were able to get it at Php 12,150 net per night. My parents booked a Main Wing Deluxe Sea View Room with twin beds.

Tip! Download the Shangri-La app to view your reservations easily. You can also sign-up for Shangri-La’s Golden Circle program to enjoy exclusive offers and member rewards!

Swimming at Shangri-La Mactan Beach

Shangri-La Mactan has a beach with clean sand and clear water with a lot of fish! It was a bit hot when we went there so we stayed in this area where there is shade.

I felt really safe here because it is not crowded and there is a lifeguard on the beach. They also give us beach towels and life vests for kids that we can use for free. There are also plenty of lounge chairs on the beach that we can use.

My brother really enjoyed swimming with the fish. I got a bit scared in the beginning because there were a lot of them.

Tip! You can buy a bottle of fish food there for Php 50.

After having fun swimming, we went to the Adventure Zone to play.

Play at Shangri-La Mactan Adventure Zone Indoor Playground

Shangri-la Mactan Adventure Zone is a multi-level indoor playground for kids. It has big slides and an obstacle course.

Tip! Make sure you wear socks, a long-sleeved shirt, and an extra shirt. Bring water too in case you get thirsty.

You will need to book your playtime ahead of time so we did it right after we checked in at the hotel.

Look at that big slide! It looks terrifying at first and I was so scared when I went onto the slide. It was really fun when I tried it. They made me wear a helmet for safety on this slide.

There is also a separate room for smaller kids, who are four years old and younger. It is called the Toddler Zone. There is a slide too, a small obstacle course and a ball pit.

Enjoy a Buffet Lunch at Shangri-La Mactan Tides Restaurant

After an exciting morning, we headed to Tides Restaurant for a buffet lunch. There were a lot of people at this time but there was still a lot of food.

Tip! If you are a Golden Circle Member, they have a 50% discount for kids 7 to 12 years old, and kids 6 years old and below eat for free. After our yummy lunch, we went to our room to rest.

Stay at the Main Wing Deluxe Sea View Room

We stayed at the Main Wing Deluxe Sea View Room. There was a lot of closet space for our things and a spacious bathroom with a bathtub. There’s a mini ref too.

I really loved the view from our room. You can see the beach and the pools!

I was really surprised when we went back to our room and there were balloons there. Thank you, Shangri-La for helping my mom and dad surprise me on my birthday.

Swim and Play in Acquaplay and the Swimming Pools

After resting in our room, it’s swimming time again! They have a big pool with a big slide. I got a bit nervous at first but it was really fun.

There was also a fun Acquaplay area for young kids.

We were pretty hungry after swimming. I ate at Tea of Spring, a Chinese restaurant inside Shangri-La. We didn’t get to take photos here because we were so hungry. 😅

Have fun in EZone

We went to the e-Zone after dinner. This is the entertainment hub with a Timezone arcade, Xbox video games, sports lounge, karaoke room, and a snack bar.

Play Mini Golf

On our second day, we tried mini golf. We don’t really know how to play mini golf so we just had fun together.

Eat at Buko Bar

Before we went home, we had lunch at the Buko bar and I had this really big burger.

That was a fun vacation! I really liked Shangri-La Mactan’s facilities and everyone there is very nice too. I hope we can go back here soon!
